Repot on one and a half days Preparedness training to two groups of Mannar DIRC,
 GFP delegates & Sub group member .

The NPC/MARR jointly conducted one and a half days training to Mannar DIRC & GFP delegates on 6th& 7th of November at Caritas-Valvuthayam auditorium. 30 members participated including DIRC members- 17 no ,Civil Police Group- 03 no, GFP delegates- 05 no & DIRC Sub group members 05 no .
MrGaminiJayaweera&Ms R.K. Maliga conducted the training in Sinhala with a translation by MsPatamaswaran . Both used  Video clip, lectures, Roll play, Group discussion , question & answers  and finally  with a post evaluation.

At the beginning Mr Sinclair from MARR welcomes the participants and both Resource personal and briefs the purpose of the workshop, followed with two minutes silent prayer.
Both Resource persons were stressing that DIRC members should get all necessary data using the modern Scientific  methods and arm with correct facts and figures, Importance of Documentation, Understand a problem and analyze with supporting documents , act as mediators’ and approach both parties to understand their position and brief both parties on how to abide the rule of  country law, Conflict arise if the both parties needs were not satisfied or fulfilled , Use win  -win position and mediate to compromise the issue , To solve problem use the modern scientific methods which are freely available now . Change the mentality of the people to understand others need and anxiety,
Well explained on the Leadership qualities and functions without any bias, using many currentexamples, and how to face problem and to solve it amicably in the initial stage itself.
Video clip was shown to understand how a small issues flare up later end up with   mass destruction  due to poor understanding, due to ego, and when the  limited resources are not shared equally etc.
Roll play was performed on one to one person discussion on how to negotiate positively and win the heart of a person in order to get their service fully. At the end evaluation was done and 80% of the participants understood the theme of the workshop, and comment that they could practice it in their daily disputes in family, village,  workplace and in the country.
Also they said this training had given them a clue how to select and vote for a better leader to our country.  The 20% of the participants comment that  if a Tamil resource person could be given the training  it could be  much better  by one to one discussion.As more time is taken in translation, also there aremany Good Resourcepeople available in our district.  Most of the Training are taking place in Towns, This type of awareness should be given to  rural areas or residential training in towns  especially to  Rural  common leaders, Religious leaders and CBO members , Also Women to be empowered  first as they could change the masses by their act.

Meals and other logistical facilities were satisfied, and due to travelling from far distances participants could not come in time as Mannar have poor transport facilities in theruralinterior roads. If it is a residential programme it should havebeen much better they commented.
Participants were given two refreshment & lunch per day with travelling expenses.
Finally vote of thanks was given by three members of participants, by MrSinclair &Mr.Medosan.
Similarly  The NPC/MARR jointly conducted one and a half days training to Mannar DIRC  five sub group members  on 7th& 8th of November at Caritas-Valvuthayam auditorium where  29 members  participated including DIRC Media group- 04 no, Youth -11 no, Politician -02 no, Women group – 07 no, and Special Need person -05 no .
At the end of the programmeMrNayasfrom Colombo NPC visited and stress the importance of this workshop and how the mentality of the participants could be changed  quoting few examples.
The rest of the activities are similar to the first group agenda.
